2nd Designer (Daze Aliman)

Dear Blog,

I went to my 3rd wedding fair last Saturday ( May 31). I got really disappointed because upon arriving at the venue I noticed that there were only a few suppliers. They didn't even fill the Metrotent in Ortigas. I believe there were more or less 30 suppliers only. BUT even if that was the case I still found a potential designer that would make my dream gown come true. Yes, and her name is Daze Aliman. She claimed that she's been in the industry for a decent amount of time. She also studied Fashion designing abroad and even catered for foreigners for years until she decided to come home in the Philippines to start a business here.

I described to her the gown that I want and asked for a quote but she gave me a price wAaaaay more expensive than Gracie Couture. I was about to leave when she asked me about my budget and so I told her.. She told she can work it out! I was shocked because from her initial 40K quote she agreed to a price that I asked. She just told me not to tell anyone about the price. She said she's still re-building her career here in the Philippines that's why she's trying to build her web of clients and get as many customer as possible.

Honestly, I liked her plans and visions for my dress. I can really tell that she knows what she's talking about. She suggested some things that I didn't think about before but realized that it's actually a good idea. The way she visualized my gown left a mental picture in my head that I still clearly see until now. I like her. Let's just see what will happen next. Will I go to her shop or will I go continue my hunt for "the" future designer of my gown? I wonder.

1st Designer (Gracie Joie Couture)

Gracie Joie Couture
201 Anahaw St. Comembo, Makati City

Dear Blog,

I went here last week to have a quote on the wedding dress that I want. I showed them the design and they priced it for P35,000   depending on the materials that they needed, it can go higher. I guess the price is a little too high for me. So sad coz it would have been easier for me to visit their shop whenever I need to, it's just a couple of blocks from where I live..no hassle at all.

I talked to Ms. Grace, the designer and one of the owner of the shop. I liked her detailed plans and visions for my gown, but too bad hanggang plans lang huhu. I'm trying to be practical and this one doesn't fit the bill. BUT, it's still not final because we still have 8 months to go! Who knows what could happen in 8 months? What if I won the lottery? I can get whoever designer I want! haha! We never knew.

My Wedding Dress

Dear Blog,

Whenever I'd see a bride I would always look at the dress first and thought about how pretty or ugly the dress was. I don't know if you'll agree but in my opinion it's always the bridal dress that people will notice first. I have this wedding dress design in my head ever since I saw it somewhere (I forgot where) and I vowed to myself that I will wear that dress someday. Now here I am, I now have the opportunity to make my dream come true. It's either I will find a couturier to make it or I'll just opt for the cheaper ones in the market that are ready to wear. There's always a kicker that always seem to burst every bride's bubble. For me it's "the budget", "the dough" the moolah". I have a very limited budget but since everything is possible here in the Philippines I'm sure there's always a way..a cheap way.

Yeah I know, this is a bad case of photo editing but this is roughly what I want my dress to look like.

Isn't it gorgeous? It's a serpentine cut gown made with embossed lace from neck down the middle, and flowing skirt made with tulle. I swear I don't want to wear any other gown other than this one.

The challenge is finding the right person to do it. Having a very limited budget makes the task even more difficult. Where on earth can I find an angel who can make a dress such as this?

*Update*
Okay so I decided to finally put a price on my dress. My budget for the dress is no more that 25,000 Pesos only. I just hope that I won't stray out of the limit *fingers crossed*.
